Certificate format
The above mentioned Medical
Report is the format of Medical Legal Certificate used in
The Medical Legal Certificate is a certificate used for
legal proceedings. When an accident happens or an incident of scuffling happens
between two persons or parties, and in result of such accident or scuffling/
fight whatever the case may be, if any one gets injured and he report to police
about injuries and fight.
After reporting to police by that injured
person, the police make entry in Roznamcha (daily Dairy) and take the injured
to the concerned hospital for his medial examination and for obtaining medical legal
report/certificate. In light of medical report, offence/offences can be added in
the FIR.
The MLC is a very important document, and
the court considers it very seriously at the time of bail or at the time of
conclusion of trial in an FIR.
If someone obtains MLC in connivance with
police or doctor, same can be challenged by way of filing an application for
constitution of medical board / district Standing Medical Board/ DSMB for
reexamination of injuries before the concerned Illaqa Magistrate/ Area
Magistrate, if the court allows the application, it directs the concerned MS
(Medical Superintend) of concerned hospital to constitute medical board and to reexamine
the injuries. The decision of Standing
Medical Board may be helpful or in favour of accused person.
A Medical Legal Certificate may contain a lot of information
like name of hospital, name of injured, father name, date of birth, address, identification
marks, date and time of arrival and examination of injured, name of police official/ constable who brought
injured, date of admission, date of discharge, description of injuries received by injured, name of Medico Legal examiner etc. The MLC fee
which I saw is usually written as Rs. 200/-, however may be changed in
different circumstances or areas. The above said information can be seen from the
sample or template of Medical legal report provided in this article.
