How to obtain Domicile, if your
CNIC contains double address –
You might know that the
domicile can be obtained from district of permanent address on CNIC.
The detailed processfor obtaining domicile has already been given in another article. However,
this article specifically relates to double address domicile. Means if your
CNIC contains double address of two different
districts, in this case, from which city, you can apply? and what may be
documents requirement?
If there are two different addresses
on your ID Card, you may be required additional documents for obtaining
domicile certificate depend on number of factors. You will be told in this
article that in which case, you may be required to change your address and in
which case you may not be required to change your address, and in which case you
may be required to get NOC for domicile and in which case you may not be
required to get NOC for domicile.
The requirement of change of
address on your CNIC for obtaining domicile may vary and it depends on that from
which city, you want to apply for a domicile certificate either from Permanent
Address mentioned on your CNIC or present address mentioned on your CNIC.
Following are few examples,
if your CNIC contains double address.
No need to change address on CNIC
If following particulars are
mentioned on your CNIC.

If you want to obtain
domicile from Rawalpindi District (permanent address), you are not
required to change your address if above stated particulars are on your CNIC
because domicile can be obtained from district of permanent address on your
CNIC and in this case, your CNIC contains permanent address of Rawalpindi
therefore you are not required to change your address.
However, if you want to apply
from District Lahore, in this case you may be required to change permanent
address from

If you want to obtain
domicile from Rawalpindi District (Present address), you are
required to change your address if above stated particulars are on your CNIC
because domicile can be obtained from district of permanent address on your
CNIC and in this case, your CNIC contains permanent address of Lahore, therefore
for obtaining domicile from Rawalpindi, you are required to change your permanent
address from Lahore to Rawalpindi.
NOC
for domicile may not be required even in case of double address on CNIC
If following particulars are
mentioned on your CNIC.
